Thank you for your interest in nominating an individual, business, organization or community for an Emerald Award. This program is the premier recognition event in Central Ohio focusing on waste reduction and environmental stewardship. By submitting your nomination, you verify that all information is true and accurate. SWACO reserves the right to verify all submitted information.
You can complete your nomination online or by mail. Please call 614-871-5100 during business hours to get a copy of the mail in nomination form and guidelines.
Follow these steps to submit your nomination.
1. Type your nomination in a Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word compatible document.
2. You may submit a maximum of three 8.5 X 11 inch typewritten pages that can include charts, pictures or photos, etc. Margins must be one inch on all sides. The font requirements are a minimum 12 point Arial or Times New Roman Font. Do not submit additional information beyond the three pages. These guidelines apply to online nominations and those made by mail.
3. You must select ONE category to submit a nomination and describe how the nominee meets the criteria in that category. SWACO staff cannot assist you with this matter.
4. Address how your nominee performed in as many of the criteria as possible. You must coordinate your responses with the order of the criteria listed under your chosen category. If your nominee does not meet a criterion because it does not apply, type NA next to it.

5. Complete all fields of the Nomination Information Form.
6. Upload your nomination document and hit the submit button. Please do not upload any additional information as it will not be considered.
7. You will receive a message at the bottom of the page that says: ‘Your form has been submitted’. This means the nomination process is complete.
Additional Information Nominations will be scored primarily on results achieved from work done in calendar year 2007.
The strongest nominations will be those that achieved sustainable results as evidenced by solid metrics.
All decisions by the judges are final. Nominations that do not comply with these guidelines will be omitted.
Nominations must be received by 5:00 PM on March 21, 2008.
