Enroll, Build, Execute & Engage

WELCOME!

You have gotten this far so we know you are committed to implementing sustainable recycling programs for your business. Congratulations! You are going to be a Business Recycling Champion; we just know it!

What: The Business Recycling Champion program is made up of three (3) categories: Indoor Containers, Indoor, and Outdoor Signage, and Service Start-Up Support. You may qualify for up to $2,000 in financial assistance across all three categories. Complete the SWACO document set one (1) time and apply for all three categories or apply only for what you need help with.

When: There are no deadlines for applying. Funds are distributed on a first come first serve basis to those businesses that qualify, complete the program, and successfully launch recycling initiatives at their business.  Program funding is limited and resets annually on Jan. 1.

Where: Businesses within the SWACO’s Jurisdiction qualify. This includes all of Franklin County, Ohio, and those cities that overlap with nearby counties: Dublin, Westerville, Canal Winchester, and Reynoldsburg.

Why: SWACO’s goal is to reach a 75% diversion of recoverable/recyclable materials from the landfill by 2032. We know businesses contribute 60% of recyclable materials presently going into the Franklin County landfill. We believe that helping businesses create sustainable recycling programs will help us achieve our goals and make an impact on our community.
