When you visit COSI, don’t forget to check out our new Recycle Right exhibit. Unveiled in April, the exhibit illustrates how recycling benefits our community. The new exhibit consists of four sections. The first section shows how different recyclable materials break down in various stages of the recycling process before they are made into new recycled products. Next, the “Do’s and Don’ts” section explains what is and is not accepted for recycling in Franklin County. An interactive sorting game tests visitors’ knowledge as they practice recycling or disposing of common household materials like bottles, jars, cardboard and old sports equipment. The final section highlights products that are commonly made from recycled content and reinforces the importance of supporting local recycling operations through the purchase of goods created using recycled content.
SWACO awarded COSI a Community Waste Reduction grant to install 40 new recycling stations throughout the facility for bottles, cans and paper materials. Check out the exhibit in this 10TV story. We hope you will visit it in person to learn the best ways to recycle right and make a difference!
