SWACO’s education campaign, “Recycle Right, Make a Difference,” was awarded a MarCom Award for its “Don’t Bag Plastics” video. The MarCom Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications.
We launched the Recycle Right, Make a Difference campaign in 2018 to teach residents what can and cannot be recycled. The campaign includes social media posts, magnets and postcards that are mailed to homeowners, and advertising on TV, in newspapers and on social media. We’re proud of both the campaign’s creativity and its success in educating people about the right way to recycle.
After receiving Recycle Right materials, 62% of residents in Grove City reported that they knew more about what they can and can’t recycle. Similarly, Columbus saw a 62% reduction in the number of households bagging recyclables after homeowners received the Recycle Right Don’t Bag Recyclables mailing.
We plan to continue our advertising and direct mail campaigns into 2020, so be on the lookout for Recycle Right messages!
