Celebrating Recycling Success in Whitehall

During SWACO's February board meeting, Vice Chair Ken Wilson, presented the City of Whitehall a Certificate of Excellence in Sustainability recognizing their recent efforts to IMG_2466implement a new curbside waste and recycling program which resulted in a number of improvements including:

  • 95% curbside recycling program participation rate compared with 26% in 2021
  • 21% decrease in trash tonnage compared to 2020
  • 85% increase in recycling tons compared to 2020
  • 12% reduction in trash
