November 15 is America Recycles Day

In honor of America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, SWACO provides the following programming. Stay tuned for additional events and opportunities to Recycle Right all month long.  

SWACO’s partnership with Columbus Metropolitan Library
All month long

Together, SWACO and the Columbus Metropolitan Library are bringing curated kiosks and lists of reading materials about climate change, sustainability and recycling to all 23 branches of the library for the month of November. Guests will also enjoy a special bookmark and outreach events that provide an opportunity to ask questions about recycling. Events are as follows: 

  • Whetstone on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Whitehall on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  
  • Northern Lights on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 
  • Driving Park on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 pm

Bring Recycling to Your Multi-Family Complex
Saturday, Nov. 1 from 2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Join this FREE, 30-minute webinar to learn about the resources available to Franklin County property managers and owners looking to add recycling at their complexes. Learn about the Resident Educational Tool Kit, The Property Manager's Tool Kit and other free resources available for implementing a sustainable recycling program.

Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. - noon

Bring your unwanted yard signs to the Bill McDonald Athletic complex location at 4990 Olentangy River Rd. Columbus, OH 43214 for proper recycling! All paper, plastic and coroplast signs, and metal stands will be accepted for recycling. 

Recycling is Working in Central Ohio
Wednesday, November 15 

Celebrate America Recycles Day by sharing success stories of businesses in central Ohio prioritizing recycling. Recycling is more than tossing items in a cart, it’s about building futures. In fact, 5,000 central Ohioans rely on the recycling industry for work. Learn about the environmental and economic benefits of recycling and how you can help to support the recycling economy.
