It is estimated that
sixty-percent of all waste at the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill comes from
the commercial sector. With a goal to increase recycling, SWACO is developing
new business programs.
SWACO has conducted local
and national research to identify business standards, best practices, and

in the development of new business programming.

New Assistance Program
A Business Assistance
Program is in development to provide educational resources, cost incentives and
recognition opportunities for Franklin County businesses.
& Program team invited key business partners to review the new waste
reduction and recycling resources. Reviewing organizations included:

Based on the feedback,
revisions will be made, and a launch of new programming is expected in the
coming months. The program will be publicly available on the SWACO website.
In addition, case
studies and success stories from partners will be offered, and updated often. SWACO will continue to seek innovative
collaboration opportunities to benefit the entire community.
