With support from community partners, SWACO has added two new drop-off recycling locations in the Clintonville and Northland neighborhoods. Lots on each of the following locations now have three (3), 8-cubic yard recycling containers:
•Franklin County Department of Jobs and Family Services, 1721 Northland Park Avenue
•The Soldiery, 4256 North High Street
Collaboration with Franklin County and The Soldiery made these new locations possible.
SWACO operates 133 drop-off recycling containers at 55 locations throughout Franklin County. In 2016, more than 8,500 tons of recyclable material was diverted from the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill through this program.
To assist with the program’s success, individuals using the drop-off recycling containers are asked to:
•Only dispose of paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs, cartons, aluminum and steel cans, and glass bottles and jars in the containers
•Breakdown and flatten cardboard boxes
•Keep recyclables loose; don’t put them in plastic bags
Materials not accepted include: plastic bags, plastic containers, drinking glasses, window glass, egg cartons, tissues, paper cups, paper plates, foil, coat hangers and steel scraps.
Residents who spot illegal dumping or littering at a drop-off recycling container are encouraged to report it at itsacrime.org or by calling 614-871-5322.
