Twenty-three communities now participate in SWACO assisted consortiums. The consortium and contract assistance helps to ensure that communities receive the best services at the lowest cost. The SWACO program is a model for other counties.
With SWACO’s assistance, two communities will be offering curbside recycling for the first time (Sharon Twp and the Village of Lockbourne,), and four communities (Upper Arlington, Worthington, Lockbourne, and Norwich Twp.) representing 20,000 households will be using 64-gallon cart recycling for the first time.
Cart-based recycling programs increase recycling capacity for communities. Clinton Twp, Pleasant Twp, and the Village of Brice all renewed contracts will lower costs.
