2017 Fall Diversion Events a Success

Collection and recycling events for unwanted medications and used political signage are becoming increasingly popular.

SWACO has partnered with law enforcement, the City of Columbus, Franklin County and businesses such as Kroger and Cardinal Health to make a real impact.


Political Sign Recycling (November 11): collection of thousands of yard signs

Pharmaceutical Take Back Day (October 28): 17 mobile collection locations collected 4.4 million pills – nearly 3,000 pounds.

Spring mobile collection dates for household hazardous waste have been scheduled and pharmaceuticals take back days will be announced soon.
