SWACO launched an educational campaign earlier this year aimed at teaching people the proper way to recycle. The campaign, called “Recycle Right,” was introduced as a pilot program in Grove City, Urbancrest and Jackson Township. Following the four-month pilot, we conducted an online survey of Grove City residents and learned:

- 54% saw the campaign
- 62% said they know more about what they can and can’t recycle
- 55% learned something new
- 19% recycle more frequently now
Now that the pilot has successfully concluded, SWACO is rolling out the campaign in phases across Franklin County. Hilliard and Upper Arlington have already begun using the campaign materials, while several other communities plan to do so later this summer.
Before the end of the year, SWACO plans to mail “Recycle Right” information to 100,000 single-family homes in the county, launch a paid advertising campaign and introduce a new, interactive educational website.
