Facilitated by SWACO and the Central Ohio Food Waste Initiative (COFWI), Save More Than Food is a food waste education and awareness campaign designed to help Central Ohio communities better understand the impact of food waste in our community and the steps that each of us can take to make a difference. The website provides localized resources specific to four different audiences: residents, schools, workplaces, and food businesses and aims help Central Ohio cut regional food waste in half by 2030. Visit the Save More Than Food "At School" page for resources ranging from classroom education, to engaging your school district.
1.3 billion tons of food is wasted each year. Wasted food means a loss of natural resources used for growing, processing, packing, transporting, and marketing as well. The Food Waste Warrior Curriculum includes lessons, activities, and other resources for grades K-12 focused on educating students about why food waste matters and what they can do to help reduce it.
