Recycling Options for Families Who Rent or Live in Multi-family Complexes

While on-site recycling programs for families and individuals residing in multi-family complexes in Franklin County are currently limited, SWACO does offer conveniently located and free-to-use drop-off recycling containers across the county.

The following items are accepted at SWACO’s Recycling Dro- Off locations:

  • Cardboard and paper
  • Carton containers
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Metal cans and cups
  • Plastic bottles and containers

  • Oil-based paint and spray paint
  • Paper documents for shredding
  • Prescription pill bottles with lids (must be empty)
  • Pumpkin and gourds (October 1 - December 14; items should be free of candles and paint)
  • Select yard waste (branches, grass clippings, limbs, logs, untreated woodchips and brush)
  • String lights
  • Styrofoam packaging  (packing peanuts and food containers NOT Accepted)
  • Televisions*
  • Tires*
  • Used motor oil, antifreeze, and oil filters
  • Yard signs including plastic, coroplast, and paper signs and their metal stands
