Why They’re a Champion
City Folks General Store has been recognized as both a Business Recycling Champion and a Food Waste Champion for its robust waste diversion program. The business shares a cardboard recycling container with neighboring businesses and composts all food waste generated in the store. City Folks received additional signage from SWACO to help employees properly sort materials into recycling, compost and waste containers. By collaborating with neighboring businesses to divert more material from the landfill, City Folks demonstrates leadership in sustainability and serves as a positive example for the community.
