Who They Are
Why They’re a Champion
Columbus Instruments first partnered with SWACO in 2025 to identify opportunities to divert cardboard from the landfill. Since then, the company has significantly expanded its waste diversion efforts. In addition to recycling cardboard through a local recycler, Columbus Instruments now recycles scrap metal, collects traditional recyclables throughout its facility and donates usable materials for reuse.
Since March 2026, Columbus Instruments has diverted more than 8.78 tons, or 17,560 pounds, of cardboard from the landfill. The company is recognized as a Business Recycling Champion for its commitment to waste diversion, resource recovery and sustainability.
