The Beckfast Place is recognized by SWACO as a Business Recycling Champion for its commitment to incorporating sustainability into its operations from the very beginning. Prior to opening its German Village location, the restaurant partnered with SWACO to identify opportunities for recycling and waste diversion. Since opening, The Beckfast Place has successfully implemented recycling for a variety of materials generated through daily operations, including paper, cardboard, bottles, cartons and other mixed recyclables.
Through its participation in SWACO’s Business Champions Program, The Beckfast Place also introduced customer-facing recycling opportunities by installing a recycling container and educational signage in its bar area. These additions make it easier for guests to recycle accepted materials while reinforcing the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability. By integrating recycling into both back-of-house operations and the customer experience, The Beckfast Place is helping build a culture of waste reduction and environmental responsibility.
