Designee of the Mayor of the City of Columbus
Stephen Sayre has been a pivotal member of Mayor Ginther’s office since 2016, currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff. In his position, he leads the policy team and advocates for the City at the federal and state levels. Sayre has facilitated the allocation of Federal CARES and ARPA funding and has successfully advanced grant applications that secured significant federal funding for city initiatives. Additionally, he has been appointed to the steering committee for the White House’s Workforce Hub project and has coordinated outreach for critical city projects, such as the Affordable Housing bond and the establishment of the Columbus Civilian Police Review Board. His extensive experience includes roles with the United States Conference of Mayors and various local and federal elected officials, complemented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
