Waste & Recycling Workers Keep Central Ohio Clean And Green

Behind every empty bin and clean street is a dedicated public servant doing essential work for their community, and national Waste and Recycling Workers Week gives these workers the recognition they deserve.

Every day, hundreds of waste and recycling pros help keep central Ohio clean, safe, and sustainable, including with about 900 visits each day to the Franklin County Landfill and hundreds more to other SWACO facilities. SWACO’s own team serves 41 separate communities in Franklin County, and more than 1.3 million local residents.

SWACO is proud to recognize these dedicated professionals, and urges you to keep an eye out for them and their safety when you see them working in the community. Remember to Slow Down To Get Around, and click HERE to learn more.

Sustainable Summer Events
The summer season is filled with fun family events, but those hundreds of get-togethers, concerts, festivals, fireworks displays, parades, and parties create a mountain or trash. Fortunately SWACO works with local planners to provide trash and recycling containers and signage so that more of that waste can get recycled or composted instead of ending up in the landfill.
