Celebrate Small Business Month with SWACO as we congratulate the Compost Exchange for winning a Market Development grant From the Ohio EPA.
Ohio EPA’s Market Development Grant provides businesses such as manufacturers, recyclers, and material processors with opportunities to create or expand recycling processing capacity including organics and recycled material production, and SWACO is a government sponsor for interested businesses such as the Compost Exchange.
The Compost Exchange is the first and largest service provider of residential curbside food scrap recycling and composting in Central Ohio.
With this new grant, the Compost Exchange will purchase two new electric vehicles with lift gates as part of a move toward an all-electric fleet to be more sustainable. The lift gate will allow them to serve businesses that produce larger volumes of food waste which can’t be lifted manually. When the grant is completed, they will be able to expand their service territory, serving more business customers and ultimately keep more food waste out of the landfill.
