Fall Into Sustainable Habits

Pumpkin Spice and Green Advice

Fall has officially arrived and with it come more and more ways to reuse the things we have around our homes to live more sustainably. You may even have heard that now through October 10, you can get $1 off any (non-alcoholic) drink at one of five participating coffee shops around Franklin County when you say “Choose To Reuse”. The Central Ohio Reuse Coalition is even offering 50% off enrollment in its reusable coffee cup program. Click here to learn more and get in on the fun.

Westerville Repair Cafe

Another way to live sustainably is to repair things when they break rather than throwing them away. Not everyone knows how to fix things and nobody knows how to fix everything, but when we work together, a lot of things can have new life instead of ending up in the landfill.

On October 11, from 9 a.m. to noon, Sustainable Westerville is hosting a Repair Cafe at The Point on Otterbein University’s campus (60 Collegeview Rd.) where you can bring things like bicycles, furniture, jewelry, electronics, computers, and torn clothing for mending and repair. It’s a free, collaborative event for the whole family. Click here  for more information.
