All About the Apples
- Shop for local produce like apples at an orchard or farmers’ market.
- Make the most out of your apples by using the entire apple! Make apple cider, pie, butter and more!

All About the Fashion
- Switch to your fall wardrobe!
- Have clothes that don’t fit anymore or are no longer your style? Don’t throw them in the trash, donate them so they can have a second life.
- The SWACO Recycling Convenience Center accepts clothes donations and to find a clothing donation center near you click here.

All About the Scenery
- Enjoy the crisp fall air while taking a stroll. If you see any waste be sure to pick it up and place it in the proper disposal container.

All About the Leaves
- Get the big photo finish and jump into that pile of leaves!
- After you have fun, be sure to place your yard waste in biodegradable paper bags and only put in accepted items like leaves and twigs. For more information on accepted yard waste click here.

All About Saving
- On November 3rd don’t forget that clocks will fall back, saving you an hour!
- In the spirit of saving -let’s save more items from the landfill! As of November 1st, 2024, Franklin County residents can begin recycling clear plastic clamshell containers such as those used for fruit and berries, lettuce and eggs. (Materials should be empty and clean.)
