SWACO is providing Pelotonia with nearly 100 recycling, composting and trash containers for the upcoming race weekend. Event goers and riders alike will be able to recycle their plastic water bottles, canned beverages and cardboard boxes as well as food scraps. The partnership, which is in its second year, will use SWACO’s brand new Cerobin containers to collect thousands of pounds of materials during the three-day event.
SWACO’s Event Container Loan Program is designed to help Franklin County events effectively reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost! Our community is placing greater importance on waste diversion methods including recycling. In 2023, Franklin County’s diversion rate rose to an all-time high of 54%.
