The 2026 recipients of SWACO’s Community Waste Reduction Grant have been announced, and this year’s projects are as inspiring as ever. In all, 14 local groups received more than $275,000 in funding for waste reduction initiatives, including a new food digester at Doctor’s Hospital, expanded recycling stations in classrooms and common spaces at the Columbus College of Art and Design, and new recycling and landfill receptacles at Groveport and Gahanna city parks and in the Linden neighborhood of Columbus.

SWACO Investing In The Future
It’s not too late to apply for the annual SWACO scholarship for local students studying for a career in the waste management industry.
