For over 25 years, SWACO has been committed to offering schools environmental educational programs and today our program includes dozens of curriculum resources for the classroom, landfill tours and grants for school-wide recycling and composting programs. As part of SWACO’s vision of creating a sustainable future for our region, in 2025, SWACO created and launched a Scholarship Program in order to provide even greater environmental educational opportunities directly to future generations. Through this program, we hope to help usher in a pipeline of future employees and innovators for the waste and sustainability industry.
The SWACO Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to one eligible student $2,500 every academic year (not to exceed $10,000 over four years) to an accredited community college, four-year college or university of their choice.
The application period is open from now until June 1, 2025 and the award recipient will be notified by July 1, 2025.
